Tcha Limberger (Belgium) is a multi-instrumentalist of Flemish and Manouche origins. He will perform solo for the greater part of the concert, but will also be joined by Liana Gourdjia (Russia, Georgia), a fantastic classical violinist. Together they will bring a selection of songs out of a small and beautiful repertoire which is quite unknown to the public, that of the Manouche people.
The Manouche are gypsies from Western Europe who became well known thanks to Django Reinhardt. In this livestream, not only will you hear lesser known songs in their own Romanés dialect which are only rarely brought to the public, but also hear of Tcha’s personal stories of his Manouche family.

“Piccoli grandi concerti livestream – edizione quarantena” (Little Great Concerts Livestream: The Quarantine Edition) is the next online edition of our Piccoli Grandi Concerti initiative, which since 2018 offers quality concerts in an small intimate format. The aim is creating a certain intimacy between the public and the artist, who expresses her/his origins and traditions through music.

To engage viewers in this quarantine period, we will try to brighten the wait and share the culture of music, moving the stage online, streaming directly from the artists’ home onto our Facebook page. In this way you can listen to artists from different parts of the world from your device, and we will take advantage of this technological opportunity to demonstrate how music culture knows no boundaries and unites in all parts of the world.

“Piccoli Grandi Concerti” (Little Great Concerts) is an initiative of the Culture del Mondo Association. The Quarantine Edition will follow the format we have already applied in the past – a series of great concerts with artists from all over the world, held in cosy, familiar settings – but taking the stage online, streaming live from our artists’ houses on our Facebook page. We invite you to join us on our journey to explore the beauty of music in an intimate, cosy space.
This edition is taking place in collaboration with Terang, Malaysia’s online arts festival, Moto Nokai and Bibliothè.

In March 2018, the Association launched the Piccoli Grandi Concerti (Little Great Concerts) series, with eminent international musicians performing in a cozy and familiar setting. To date, our musicians include Abdellah Ben Charradi and Elisa Scapeccia (gnawa traditional music from Morocco and dance, respectively); Amit Chatterjee and Apratim Majumdar, virtuosos of Indian classical music, on the tablas and the sarod respectively; Malick Diaw, Senegalese guitarist and singer-songwriter based in Paris; Riccardo Manzi on guitar and voice (reinterpretation of Roman folk songs); Kicau-Bilau, a Malaysian duo creating soundscapes on angklung and guitar. The idea behind Piccoli Grandi Concerti is to bring the Roman public closer to the work and cultures of great artists from around the world, in a space intimate enough to enable a meaningful exchange.
