Music village team is happy to announce, the educational and performing activities which will take place this summer in Aghios Lavrentios – Mt Pelion-Greece.

Music Village has been well known for 11 years already as one of the widest and more open artistic communities in Europe. Every year, it transforms the medieval village of Agios Lavrentios to a bursting cell of artistic creativity, innovation and music making by bringing together artists from all over the world in a cultural cross-breeding.

It is organised by arTree in collaboration with the Municipality of Volos and the local community of Aghios Lavrentios.

This years activities consists of 20 workshops coordinated by 34 artists of international acclaim under the main idea of ‘poetics of sound and words in 20 movements’. More than 100 musicians will be involved in this project which will be open to public at the end of every period. Moreover, many others will be engaged in workshops related to theatre, dance and special education among other topics.

Also, this year we are initiating a series of purely educational workshops under the title ‘satellite workshops’.
Music Village will run in the following periods:

• 18th – 24th of August
• 26th of August – 1st of September
• 6th – 12th of August: ‘satellite workshops’

In addition to the workshops, there will be concerts, performances as well as spontaneous artistic activities all over Aghios Lavrentios.
